The Capitol Civic Centre is a stunning example of 1920’s style vaudevillian opulence and movie house elegance. It was painstakingly restored and grandly reopened in 1987. Today the theatre is alive with the energy of music, dance and drama. The Capitol’s Marquee Series runs from September 27, 2008 to May 1st 2009 and offers something everyone can appreciate from Broadway to Pop and from Gershwin to Gilligan’s Island. Our resident companies feature the finest local artists and performers. The Capitol’s Student Adventure Series offers students from first grade thru high school an outstanding opportunity to enjoy professional theatrical presentations especially selected for them. New this year is a summer Theatre Arts Camp for students offering young people the skills necessary to perform or simply develop a deeper appreciation of the performing arts.
