Let’s go to the movies! Music of the silver screen is the theme of this concert which traditionally celebrates our musical heritage. Many of our most memorable tunes have come from movie soundtracks. You’ll cross the sands of the Sahara with “Lawrence of Arabia,” visit Bali Hai in “South Pacific,” walk the streets and alleys of New York with the Jets and Sharks in “West Side Story,” and witness the defense of the world in “Independence Day.” On the lighter side, the wind ensemble will treat you to a medley of tunes from favorite Disney animated movies. |
