DEBBIE REYNOLDS | OCT. 26, 2013

The Baileigh Industrial Marquee Series kicks-off on Saturday, Oct. 26 with the astonishing Debbie Reyonds with special guest Janet Planet. Legend of stage, screen, and song, Ms. Reynolds first played the Capitol to a sold out audience on April 26, 2000.  Her 65-plus year long career took a memorable turn with her spirited performance in the 1952 classic, “Singin’ in the Rain”. In 1957 she topped the Billboard charts with “Tammy”.  Known for her roles in several notable films, in 1964 Reynolds starred in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, earning an Academy Award nomination. She is a Tony Award-nominee, past star of the Las Vegas strip, and television star, including recognition for her reoccurring role as Grace’s mother in “Will and Grace”. Don’t miss this special opportunity to see Ms. Reynolds, live on stage. Vocalist Janet Planet, hailed as ‘the voice of the new jazz culture’, will open for Ms. Reynolds.

Schliesman said, “When it comes to show business legends, few can compare with the wonderful Debbie Reynolds. What a tremendous range of talent! What a history! What a life! Her current best-selling book covers much of that, but we will have her in the flesh for a magical evening of songs, stories, and remembrances from her singular life and career.”

TOM PAPA | NOV. 9, 2013

It’s time to get silly when comedian and actor Tom Papa comes to the Capitol on Saturday, Nov. 9 with “An Evening with Tom Papa”. Known as the host of “The Marriage Ref” (having been personally chosen for this role by Seinfeld) you will recognize Papa from his Comedy Central specials as well as his appearances on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, and “Late Show with David Letterman”.

“Tom is a very popular and very funny headline comedian. He’s not played this part of the country before; we are very pleased to introduce him to the Midwest. With lots of humor about men and women, relationships and families, Tom’s performance is sure to be a very relatable evening of lots of laughs,” Schliesman stated.
