The winter season of the Little Sandwich Theatre at the Historic Forst Inn in Tisch Mills, will open on February 10, 2012 with the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy-drama, “The Gin Game”, authored by D.L. Coburn. The two-act play takes place in a seedy retirement home and introduces the crusty Weller Martin and the self-righteous Fonsia Dorsey who meet and begin a series of gin games. Weller and Fonsia learn much about each other’s families, careers and lives in general and become friends. However, Weller’s increasing frustration over his losses to Fonsia and her responses eventually lead to an emotional climax that will change their lives.
James Dolan takes on the role of Weller for the second time, his first portrayal being in a southern California theater where he acted professionally for many years. His extensive credits also include local presentations such as “The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge” at the Rahr-West Art Museum and “Squabbles” at the Historic Forst Inn.
Evelyne Keith, who plays Fonsia, is a veteran of the Little Sandwich Theatre and has appeared in or directed may of its productions.
